It had been a lifelong dream of mine to open my own restaurant, and in the fall of 2009 my sister Cori and I made that dream a reality when we opened Daniela’s Restaurant. We grew up in the Transylvania region of Romania which borders Hungary. Our mother was always working, so I was taught the traditional cooking methods and recipes of Romanian and Hungarian cuisine to help feed our family. The philosophies from our family formed the groundwork of our restaurant: use the best ingredients, everything must be made from scratch, and never give out your secret recipes.
Eventually I moved from Romania to Italy where I fell in love with the northern cuisine and began my formal training. Meanwhile, my sister moved to Hungary before discovering Naples during a trip to the United States. She knew it was where she wanted to live and suggested we open a restaurant here. After twenty years apart we were reunited in Naples and began our journey to turn Daniela’s Restaurant into what it is today.
When you come through our doors, we want you to walk into an atmosphere where you feel comfortable and welcomed. I try to take the magic I learned as a kid and combine it with the latest culinary techniques and technology. There is nothing that makes us happier than seeing you enjoy the Eastern European cuisine that’s tied to fond memories of our homeland.
